The ‘Write’ Time

Welcome to my very first newsletter!

I wanted somewhere to share the things I don’t usually get around to speaking about in my videos and have somewhere that I can recommend podcasts, audiobooks, books, tv programmes etc.

I am currently unwell, but I didn’t want to let you down, so I am keeping it short and sweet this week with my latest upload on YouTube, my current podcast listen and my current fiction book read.

For those of you who don’t know, I have a huge interest in true crime. I’m not a fan of the glorification of murderers etc though-my interests are centred around the stories of. the people and the psychology behind the ‘why’ of crime. I love the Morbid podcast because they are victim-centred and are great at telling the stories in a way where I feel I am listening to my friends tell me about it. The latest episodes I have been listening to are on the Elizabeth Short (Black Dahlia) murder and although I habe known about this case for years, I had forgotten just how devastating her murder was. I listened while deep-cleaning my kitchen earlier this week, because I cannot clean without a podcast or audiobook on right now!

I finished reading “The Crash” by Frieda McFadden this week and it was good, but I did get a bit bored halfway through, wondering where it could possibly go from where it was. It was a strange story and I have to be honest, it felt a bit like the author rushed to finish it before she could fully flesh-out the story and the characters. It was an easy read though which I needed this week, so that was a bonus!

I watched a Scott Peterson documentary on Sky Documentaries called “Face to Face with Scott Peterson” (true crime again!) and it was interesting, because he speaks in it and I haven’t seen him speak on the case other than the interviews when his wife went missing. For those of you who don’t know, his wife, Laci Peterson was eight months pregnant with their son Conner when she went missing on Christmas Eve 2002. Scott was later arrested for their murders when their bodies washed up in April the following year very close to where Scott had been fishing that Christmas Eve. It is an incredibly interesting case and although I ultimately fall on the opinion that he is guilty, I do believe there is reasonalble doubt that I would want to be investigated if I were Laci’s family-member. Anyway, the Netflix documentary called “American Murder: Laci Peterson” was better in my opinion.

I am also loving “Paradise” and “High Potential” – both on Disney+ for some escapism.

I would love to hear if you have any book, podcast, tv, movie etc. recommendations-Let me know by commenting on this post!

Love, Stacy x

P.S. Keep an eye out on YouTube this evening for an extra little upload 🙂

It is nothing like I thought it would be from the very short trailer I saw but I am loving it! I just saw it announced today that it has been renewed for a second season too-yeay! 😊

I’m watching Paradise and High Potential too. Haven’t been that gripped to a show (Paradise) in so long! I was watching it last night and was completely immersed!

Fingers crossed! I always end up forgetting about series when the wait is too long in between. I can always just re-watch it though I suppose!
